Sometimes I get so bored with all the meals that I’ve been preparing for years now, then you find a new idea and it’s like a little treasure to try.
This is one of them, just a new idea with all the old ingredients.
Recipe for waffles:
- 1 cup flour
- 1 egg
- 1 tea sp baking powder
- 1 cup milk/water
- 1 table sp sugar
- 1 table sp butter/oil
- 1/2 tea sp vanilla extract
- little salt
- blend together till smooth and leave to stand for a while
- waffle pan
- this recipe will also work for flapjacks
Now you fry onions, carrots, celery, and garlic in some oil/butter and use our Dollas Celery salt with spring onion and pepper, adding whatever you find fresh in the fridge.
Leave fried veggies to cool down and then add the mix to some waffle dough without the sugar. Fry like normal and serve with saucy mince for something different. Add some plain yogurt and some fresh chilies on top if you like. Fancy it up with mushroom or cheese sauce and a fresh salad.
Make some extra waffles with sugar and serve as a special treat afterward.
