We love potatoes, we literally cannot get enough to this vegetable, and one of the dishes we have been making over and over again is Shepard’s Pie.
We’ve done it a few times now, in different ways, but so far, our favorite one is this one.
- Red Lentils

- 1 tablespoon Potjiekos Mix
- 1 tablespoon Smoked Paprika
- Poppyseeds- Optional
Start with the potatoes, as always. Peel them, and cook them. Then soak the Red lentils on the stove. Peel the carrots, and grate them. Chop some onions and celery, fry them until translucent.
Add the carrots to the celery and onions, one tablespoon of Potjiekos mix, and one Tablespoon of Smoked Paprika. Mix together, and once the red lentils are pale, add them to the onions and celery with a strainer.
Mash the potatoes, adding a cup of the cream. Mix well.
Pour the carrot mix into a dish, add the mash on top and sprinkle with poppy seeds. Serve warm, with some beets.
