We’ve made burgers a lot of times now, in many different ways, but this time we made the buns for scratch.
Here follows Giggeldolla’s foolproof dough recipe. She makes it for us, for Armenian Bread, Vetkoek, Pizza, literally anything.
- 1 sachet Yeast
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 tablespoon oil – sunflower
- 2 tablespoons sugar
- 500ml warm water
Start with the wet ingredients, adding the dry as you go. Add flour until ball forms, then knead.
Leave to raise for a bit, then split into smaller pieces, this one made six buns.Big buns, the perfect chunky burer bun.
For the actual burger part of this dish, we defrosted some of Dollas’ blackbean patties. We fried some onions, grated strips of carrot, or some lettuce. And some creamy Vegan cheese sauce. *recipe to follow
But honestly the options are unlimited when it comes to this dough mixture, it is fluffy, light, and delicious.
