Vegan Lentil Meat Balls with Kale Rice

We love lentils, they are versatile, incredibly complex, and filling.

Today we are bringing you something special. Brown lentil ‘Meat Balls’, we are using this name freely, it’s more a fritter, but it is absolutely delicious.


  • Onion
  • Salt
  • All Purpose Flour
  • Chickpea Flour
  • Baking Powder
  • Water
  • Lentils

Start by chopping an onion, add two cups of all purpose flour, and baking powder, mix well. A cup of chickpea flour comes next, then the salt and water, lastly some cooked lentils. Add a lot of lentils for a good bite and use enough salt to make it tasty.

Mix well, then fry in a little oil, adding a second layer on top when the first scoop is halfway cooked. This will make for a nice bodied bite. Flip and then fry on the other side. Add extra oil when needed to keep it crisp.

We added crushed kale to half boiled rice, added extra salt and cooked it till dry.

To serve add some sweet bottled beet salad.


This is a lovely meal and surprisingly easy to prepare.
